New Hope Worship Center’s Bridge Ministry began with people who love Jesus and are passionate about the homeless and impoverished people of Augusta, GA. With the blessing of Senior Pastor Rich Bowen, New Hope’s evangelism pastor, Roger Gardner with his wife Kimmi, began the Bridge ministry in January 2007 and it continues to expand and grow the Kingdom of God. Every Saturday, volunteers set up 250+ chairs, food serving tables, children’s church, a music system, and more. In the atmosphere of praise and worship, the gospel is preached. Through the love of God, a full hot meal, clothing, hygiene products and bags of food are dispersed. Each month 1,200 hot meals are served, thousands of pounds of food bags, hygiene items and nearly 1000 items of clothing, shoes, and backpacks are given out.
One of the blessings that the Lord has given the Bridge Ministry is the ability to connect with many different churches throughout our city. In June 2012, First Baptist Augusta came on board to help prepare hot meals and set up our service. Also, in the past few years multiple churches have joined us on regular weekends and large events to impact the inner city and CSRA.
We begin serving the congregation every Saturday at 1pm under the Calhoun Expressway Bridge at 15th Street. Volunteers are asked to arrive by 11:30am for set up or by 12:15pm for our volunteer team meeting. If you or your church is interested in taking part, please contact Roger Gardner at 706.210.5711 or by emailing email@example.com or Tonya at firstname.lastname@example.org
